It started with a phone screening by the recruiter. Then there was a panel interview with the team, followed by another interview with the hiring manager and director. After that, there were more chats with the hiring manager before I got the offer. Since it was during COVID, all interviews were done over the phone or video call. The interviews were professional and friendly, with a good mix of situational and practical questions. Doing interviews remotely actually worked out well because I didn't have to take time off work or travel. You just need to be ready with all the questions you'd normally ask if you were there in person.

I was reached out to by a recruiter from a staffing agency who really sold the company to me. Once I agreed to be put forward, the recruiter asked for a writing sample on a given topic. Since it was for a Business Analyst role, I submitted a written sample along with a process map. It was a pretty enjoyable task. After that, I had a phone interview with one of the two hiring managers for the analyst positions. The interview went well and I felt a good connection with the manager, but I wasn't sure I'd get a call back because I wasn't a perfect technical match. To my surprise, I was invited for an on-site meeting with a manager and two analysts. I'm not a fan of panel interviews because they're stressful, having to talk to multiple people at once, but this one was laid-back and turned into more of a conversation, which helped me concentrate and give my best answers. I mentioned again that I wasn't the ideal technical candidate, but that it didn't worry me since I've always switched careers and moved into new fields and roles. I wasn't sure I'd hear back, but I did, and the final interview involved a team lunch to meet everyone and a final technical test to check my problem-solving skills.

Had a panel interview with managers from different departments. One manager was really unprofessional, showing up late and acting dismissive before the interview even started. The rest of the interview felt similarly disconnected from real-world software development, with a focus on outdated, theoretical concepts instead of practical application.
