Product Manager
The very first step was a 30-minute HR round where they assessed my skills based on my experience to see if I was a good fit for the subsequent rounds. After that, there were three more rounds: the first was a career experience round, the second was a take-home case study, and the third was a group discussion for the case study. The final round was with the Head of Product, and I'm unsure of their criteria. I gave my best in round 1 and was later informed via email that they were moving forward with other candidates whose profiles were a better match. Unfortunately, HR did not provide any specific feedback.
- Can you tell me about your career journey and experience?
- Let's do a deep dive into your career history.
Product Manager
The interview process was really well put together and designed to check the things a Product Manager needs to do. It had four parts in total. Each part focused on important stuff like how you think strategically, lead people, understand the market, and work with other teams. The questions made sense and were structured in a way that they directly related to what a Product Manager does every day.
- Questions about product thinking and communication skills.
- A case study where you need to strategize on increasing revenue and create a high-level roadmap.
- Behavioral interview with the Chief Product Officer.
Product Manager
It seemed like I was already shortlisted for the job when I got the call. The initial HR chat was supposed to be 30 mins but it only took about 10-15 mins. She asked maybe 3-4 basic questions and that was it. I didn't even get to ask any questions myself. I got a rejection email less than 30 mins later. It looks like my profile never even made it to the hiring manager. If I was already shortlisted, why waste my time?
- Could you introduce yourself and explain why you are seeking a new role?
- Tell me why you are looking for a new job.
