First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tide.
KYC Analyst
I had an interview with a senior UK-based manager, a local Team Lead from Bulgaria, and an HR representative also from Bulgaria. The UK manager was supposed to join via video call but didn't show up. The local Team Lead, a middle-aged woman, seemed unfamiliar with my CV and unsure about interview procedures, perhaps coming from a different industry. Fortunately, HR stepped in and asked me to go over my CV again, which would have been unnecessary if they had reviewed it beforehand. It felt like the decision-makers were not well-prepared for the interviews. It gave me the impression of a startup that received significant funding and then rushed into hiring without proper leadership in place. Even if an offer were made, I would have declined. It was a rather disrespectful interview experience.

KYC Analyst
I applied for the KYC Analyst role via a recruiter and was given a description of the interview that was different from what actually happened. I was late due to travel issues, which I accept, but the interviewer, the head of KYC, asked me questions that completely caught me off guard. My previous role didn't focus on these specific areas, so I wasn't prepared. The recruiter was also surprised by the questions compared to what other candidates for the same role were asked. I didn't get an offer and the feedback was that I wasn't a cultural fit. I would have appreciated more honest feedback about the questions. I was advised to wear casual, but I chose smart attire. The recruiter had mentioned the interview would cover skills and attributes, ability to handle high volume onboarding (around 10 new clients daily), day-to-day processes, depth of KYC knowledge (as opposed to just policy or AML focus), and knowledge of Tide. The emphasis was on hands-on experience.
- I wish I had received honest feedback, and I hoped the interviewers would have considered all the experience shown on my CV.
