Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ticketmaster.
Product Management Director
The process kicked off with the external recruiter coordinating with the internal recruiter to schedule the first round of interviews. This involved meeting with 5 team members, each at different seniority levels. Following that, a second interview day was arranged with 5 high-ranking executives. Finally, salary negotiations took place with the internal recruiter. The whole process moved quite fast and was very efficient, with regular communication throughout.
- Given your impressive background and potential overqualification, how do you anticipate maintaining engagement and interest in this role?
Product Manager
The interview process involved speaking with a few managers, and I wasn't sure who would end up being my direct supervisor. It kicked off with a 30-minute phone chat with a recruiter, followed by a second 30-minute recruiter interview where they dug into more detailed questions. After that, I had an in-person meeting in a conference room for about an hour, where various managers rotated in and out. The final step was an in-person meeting with VP-level management that lasted around 45 minutes. The interviews felt pretty laid-back and low-pressure, with a good back-and-forth between us. My initial impression of the workplace was a relaxed atmosphere; people were in jeans, button-downs, and sneakers, and the management team looked similar, maybe a bit more polished, which was a positive sign. Everyone seemed pretty chill, and the office noise level was moderate – not silent, but not overwhelmingly loud either.
- What unique contributions can you make to our team?
Product Manager
The recruiter contacted me to set up an initial screening. About a week or two later, they said I was too qualified for the role I applied for and suggested I should be considered for a Sr. PM position instead. However, when I interviewed with the hiring manager, they were still interviewing me for the regular PM role. The interview went fine, but I never heard back, even after following up.
- Can you tell me about your experience with ticketing systems?
