It was a full day onsite design challenge. We started with a whiteboard challenge and then moved to interviews. I also got to see the office and get a feel for the environment. The staff were really friendly and made it a good experience.

Case Behavioral Presentation

The interview started with the hiring manager discussing a case study and asking some behavioral questions. Then, I was given a take-home design challenge to complete within a week, dedicating 2-3 hours daily to it. I presented my work to the hiring manager and another designer. A key stakeholder couldn't make it, so they arranged another meeting. However, after three weeks of email communication, the recruiter informed me that someone else had been hired for the role. I realized later that another candidate had a very similar experience, which they had posted six months prior, indicating a potential issue with how long the role remained open.

Behavioral

Got a referral from someone awesome who was super honest about the company's situation, turnover, mobility, and pace. His team was B2B, which wasn't for me, but he connected me with a consumer-facing team. Then I had a call with an internal recruiter. She was late and texted to reschedule for later, which was kinda nonchalant. She called later, explaining she had to deal with a fire, so we rescheduled for that afternoon. She was 20 mins late again, but we finally talked. I told her I was interested in the fan marketplace team, and she said she'd set up a call with someone from there. I followed up a week later, and she said the next step was a phone call. πŸ™„ So I gave her my availability. After another week of no response, I followed up again. Four days later, my original referral reached out saying he knew what was going on. Apparently, he had to get his boss to talk to the recruiter. After that, she finally called (no apology) and said the team I wanted was looking for someone more junior. Worst experience ever, hands down.
