The whole thing moved really fast... I didn't get a call, just an email saying if I was interested in moving forward, there was a dial-in number to discuss benefits and learn more about the role. It was a group call. After we could ask questions about the salary and the job, and if you were still interested, you'd just reply to the email with your preferred interview time. Everything was done by email. They set up my interview and confirmed it through email. I went in and interviewed with two people. About 2-3 business days later, I got an email with an offer letter. The salary goes up about 4K once the testing is finished.

Behavioral Technical

Had a recruiter call first. Then talked with a director and another advisor on the phone. This role is about 1/3 sales, 1/3 relationship management, and 1/3 advising. Mostly focused on relationship building and sales, with annual sales quotas. The Wealth Management division is a for-profit part of TIAA Cref. Their business plan is to get high-net-worth TIAA Cref clients to move assets to the retail side or buy other banking/insurance products. The interview started with questions about why I left previous jobs. It got awkward because I have a pretty normal work history. The rest of the time was spent discussing sales skills and past sales experience. We both realized the role wasn't a good fit because I want to focus on financial planning, not sales. This job is good for people who want to be great salespeople in finance. It's salary-based, not commission, which is great for some!

Recruiter reached out, had a video interview and supposedly a final interview. But I never got called back. They said the Tiaa system went down and they would call me for a final interview when it was fixed, which I've never heard of before. I called my recruiter and emailed, but got nothing, just ghosted. I even got an email saying I was highly considered for this role and the start date would be in February if I got the position. Still nothing. The process took me about 4-5 months of waiting. Applied in October, recruiter interview in November, virtual interview in December, new system went down in January, early February I got the email that I was still considered for the role, and then nothing. Very unprofessional!
