The interview went very well. They promised me I'd be invited for a second interview. Two days later, I received a rejection. Coincidentally, I met an employee who told me they should have invited at least one foreigner for an interview, but the job was already taken by another candidate at that time!!

I applied online and had a phone interview. After that, they flew me out for an in-person interview. The hiring manager seemed disengaged, constantly on his laptop, like he was just going through the motions. He didn't even ask me to visit the production line, which was disappointing given the 4+ hour travel.

First, you apply. Then, there's a quick chat over the phone or video. After that, you might have interviews, either in person or online, where they could give you technical tests or assignments. They're checking out your skills, experience, how you solve problems, and if you'd fit in. Usually, they'll do reference checks too, and then make an offer if everything checks out.
