I had a 30 minute call with the recruiter, who was really enthusiastic about my skills. Then, I was sent a dataset and a take-home analysis task. They told me to spend no more than a few hours on it and send it back within 72 hours. I spent about 4 hours analyzing the data and creating a presentation of my results. I sent it back. After a week with no word, I followed up. It’s been weeks now and still no reply. While not getting a response to a resume is normal, I feel like if you ask a candidate to spend significant time, you should at least send a response.

Behavioral Case Technical

This was a great interview experience, one of the best I've had, even compared to two Big Tech companies. The process was pretty fast. Right after applying, a recruiter reached out and set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that went well, I got a case study to complete within a week, which was about Thumbtack's business model. About 4-5 days later, I heard back about moving to an onsite interview, which the recruiter quickly scheduled. I met with five team members during the onsite. I was expecting to wait 1-2 weeks for the result, but I had other offers with deadlines. I told the recruiter, and they asked if I could do one more onsite (apparently, I was one of the first candidates, so they wanted another look before offering). It seemed fair. Two days later, the hiring manager called with the offer, which was competitive. The whole thing took about 3 weeks from application to offer. Everyone on the team was really nice, upbeat, and smart.

Case Other

Got a recruiter reach out, and after a phone chat, they sent over a take-home test. Depending on where I was located, the next step was either on-site or a video interview. The last part was on-site. The whole process felt well-paced and put together nicely. The case studies and questions were pretty heavy on analytical challenges, but it was clear they weren't trying to trick me and were really tied to the job. Everyone I met was super sharp but also treated me well. HR was great too – responsive and clear in their communication. All in all, a really good interview experience.
