Technical Coding Behavioral System Design

The interview process included a technical frontend interview with questions about my experience and how I stay updated on development trends, followed by a live coding challenge to fetch and display API data with styling. Next was a behavioral interview with standard and scenario-based non-technical questions. Then, a system design round started with introductory questions before a conversational live system design session. I didn't reach the final interview with the CTO. The entire process felt really smooth and straightforward.

Behavioral Technical

I interviewed with Thrive Global and it was one of the most unprofessional interview processes I've been through. The recruiter didn't seem to know much about the steps involved and communication was really bad. During the interview, the recruiter seemed uninterested, distracted, and disengaged. They even left for 20 minutes because they double-booked the time slot. I was told I'd move to the next round, and even gave my availability, but never heard back after that. Being ghosted like that shows a lack of professionalism and respect. I'm sure the company is great, but the recruitment process needs serious improvement.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a six-round interview process. First was a recruiter screening, then a hiring manager interview with a portfolio review. After that, there were three more rounds with a senior product manager, a senior product designer, and the head of product, all focused on behavioral questions. The final round was with the chief brand officer, also behavioral. Everything went pretty smoothly, and rounds were scheduled fast, usually within 1-2 business days. The recruiter kept saying there was "positive feedback." But after the last round, I didn't hear back for three weeks. It turned out they hired a personal referral instead. I asked for feedback after the rejection email, but no response.

Behavioral Other

I talked to Thrive's recruiter a couple of months ago. I went over my background selling to employers and working with benefit brokers/consultants. I asked about the sales team, structure, leadership, and the role. She mentioned they've had leadership changes and the search started, stopped, and restarted since January. She didn't know what benefit brokers were and couldn't answer many of my questions. Even more concerning, she said their big client wins were mostly due to Arianna Huffington's connections, which doesn't seem like a real strategy. A week after the interview, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with me. I wasn't really interested anyway, and they're still looking for someone a month later.
