The manager and HR team were really friendly and welcoming. The event setting was very educational and it seems like a very growth-motivated business. The first round interview was more of a meet and greet. Then the second round of interviews was where I got to see an event and experience what their business entails in taking care of the clients and the retailers.

So I applied on LinkedIn and got a call the next morning asking if I wanted to interview that same day. I went in early and the interviewer started by asking about my interests and experience. She was nice and said I was a natural leader. Then she said she enjoyed our time and I'd hear back by 5:00 pm if I made it to the next stage, which was odd. I asked a question I had written down, and she rudely told me she'd already answered it and I should've taken notes. I explained I wanted more detailed insight, but she called it a lack of attention. She also said I wouldn't be showcasing products at Sam's Club/Costco, which seemed like a lie since that's what the job is. I felt like leaving, so I ended the interview. She showed me out, wishing me a nice day and reminding me about the 5:00 pm call. I got a call later but didn't answer because I wasn't interested anymore. Worst hiring process ever.

The interview process at Thrive Events INC was a bit misleading. They advertise positions with the promise of becoming an "executive" making over 75K+ within a year, but this actually means starting your own franchise branch. I had three interviews. During the final one with an owner, I asked about the number of current executives, and she seemed annoyed, like I was prying. She was overly energetic, which felt fake, and I felt rushed to ask my other questions. It seems Thrive Events isn't looking for future executives, but rather recent grads to work part-time on commission selling products that aren't retail-ready. This isn't a marketing, advertising, or event coordinating job; it's retail sales. Setting up a booth isn't event coordinating, it's a sales station. No health, medical, or dental benefits initially, and I was told I wouldn't get them until reaching assistant manager, which could take up to six months.
