The process started with an online logic test and a short IQ test. After that, I was asked to do a SWOT analysis of the store and prepare a 10-minute presentation covering 30, 60, and 90-day development plans for the Bury store. My interview was scheduled at the Trafford Centre between 12 PM and 1 PM. Upon arrival, I asked for Shannon and was told she was out and I should wait 25-30 minutes. I returned within that time, and another assistant said she had gone home. I insisted she couldn't have, as I'd traveled and she was there earlier. I was asked to wait again. After another 25 minutes, the store manager, James, came out. I explained I needed to leave by 3:15 PM for my child, and the interview could run long. James mentioned Shannon can talk a lot and didn't know when she'd be back. I waited, with my SWOT analysis and presentation ready, but never saw Shannon. I suspected she wasn't even there. Given the travel distance and needing to get home, I told James I had to leave. I mentioned HR had my CV and number, and he said he'd inform Shannon. I emailed HR twice and finally received a call 4-5 days later saying the job was filled.

The process had 3 stages: an online application, an online video interview, and a face-to-face interview with the Store Manager. It was pretty unprofessional, they even had me do an internal application after the interview process started. They sent a pre-interview prep email, and what they called a "morning meeting" was just asking questions. When I asked about a presentation, the Store Manager said that was an old interview style and their HR team sent the wrong prep info, lol. They said they'd get back to me by June 6th, but it took a couple of weeks and I didn't hear back until June 23rd. So, about a month overall. It was a whole thing explaining the recruitment process.

Behavioral Technical Case

You gotta apply on three websites, where you need to pass some CV evaluations to move on. Then the store manager or assistant store manager checks out your CV and picks the right people for interviews. First, there's a phone interview, and if you do well, then a final face-to-face interview. It's super important to talk a lot about sales, customer service, and cross-selling. If you get hired, there's a 3-month probationary period.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Be ready to talk about what you know about the company, its products, and what makes it good.
  • It's mostly situation-based behavioral interview questions, so prepare for those.
