Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Three.
Manager
Applied online and got a call from the recruiter a few days later for a screening. The recruiter said her colleague would call within two days. It took three weeks, and then they invited me for a second interview, which felt arrogant given the delay and no apology. I accepted for the experience. The video interview was scheduled for early June. Both the recruiter and manager were 10 minutes late. They started asking standard questions about the role, my contributions, and company goals. The interview seemed to go well, and they said they'd contact me within 72 hours. Seven weeks passed with no communication. I emailed the recruiter with no reply. I then contacted the admin who set up the call, and she said she'd look into it, but still nothing after four more weeks. Thankfully, I'm not too interested in the role anymore, but the lack of communication is very unprofessional. They should at least provide an update, even if the role is on hold or no longer available. Interviews take a lot of prep and effort, plus the mental toll, especially during Covid when coordinating household members. Communication and a thank you for the candidate's time and interest are crucial, as interviews are a two-way street. It felt arrogant and rude.
- What would you do in a given situation, and can you share examples?
- Can you provide examples of situations you have faced?
- Tell me about what you would do in this scenario and provide examples.
Incident Manager
Had a 30 min phone interview about my background and role. Then had a 121 interview with the hiring manager and HR which included competency based questions and a presentation. The recruitment process was appalling, and the interviewers, especially HR, were condescending and unwelcoming. No feedback was given after the final interview despite chasing, and I had to take a day off for it. Not going to apply to Three again.
- Can you describe a challenging incident you faced?
- Tell me about a difficult incident you managed.
Manager
The interview process involved two in-person meetings at the company's head office in Maidenhead. The first meeting was with my potential line manager, and the second was with the Head of another department. The interviews felt friendly and were more like discussions about my past experience, my thoughts on my current work, and my ideas for future strategy.
- Can you elaborate on how your previous experience aligns with the requirements of this position?
