I was really impressed with thredUP's interview process. It was super fast, only taking 8 days from when I applied to when I got the offer. I applied on a Thursday, and got an email the next day to schedule a phone interview for the following Monday. After that call, they sent me 3 sample customer service emails to answer and send back within 24 hours. They got back to me the very next day to invite me for an in-person interview on site that Friday. There, I met with 2 supervisors, got a tour, and then shadowed a customer support rep for about 20 minutes. The first interview was actually with another candidate for the same job, but they handled it well and it wasn't awkward. About an hour or two after finishing my onsite, they called and offered me the job! Everyone I met was so friendly and easy to talk to, and other employees even said hi as they passed by. It felt really welcoming. The whole thing was straightforward with no tricky questions, but they were clearly thorough and really focused on finding the right person, making sure I felt it was a good fit for me too.

So I applied online through LinkedIn and got an almost immediate email back saying they were only hiring locally, which was weird because I mentioned in my cover letter I was moving there next week. I cleared that up and had my first call with a recruiter, who was super nice and explained the job. The questions were pretty standard. The next day, I had a second call, this time with a supervisor over the phone. It went well, but they asked me the same questions as the recruiter. After that, I got a Word doc with some customer complaints and had to write replies. I sent them back quickly and got a third interview, in person this time, with the same supervisor. Honestly, this last interview felt pointless and awkward. The interviewer even said he wasn't sure what to ask since he'd already asked me everything on the phone. He ended up reading random questions from his computer and then left. Then the VP of Customer Service came in, didn't ask me anything about myself, and just talked about how great the company is and how he takes employees to movies. He didn't seem interested in me at all. Later, the first recruiter emailed saying she had 'feedback,' which I knew meant I didn't get the job. She told me over the phone they only had one opening and gave it to someone with more experience. It's funny because that same job listing has been up since December, so that wasn't true. All in all, it was a really unprofessional interview process, and based on other reviews, I think I dodged a bullet.

This was the most ridiculous interview process I’ve experienced. First, I had a phone interview which I think I aced. Then, they sent me a poorly written document with scenarios I had to respond to, and I got great feedback on that. After that, I went for a face-to-face interview where there were two candidates, and the interviewer asked the same questions to both of us. I got positive feedback again. Finally, a supervisor called me and asked me the same exact questions as the previous interviewers. I then got an email saying I didn’t get the job, which felt like a complete waste of my time. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. I’d suggest staying away.
