I applied months ago and heard nothing back from recruiters. This month, someone helped me get an in-person interview. I met a recruiter who had ignored me before. First, there was a phone call with a recruiter, which felt like they were assessing if I'd take a low salary. The next day, I went to the office, but my interviewers were late. When one finally arrived, she didn't know my name and seemed uninterested, which was odd for someone in a senior position. The other interviewer showed up at the very end, making things awkward. The whole experience was disorganized. They then had me do a technical interview involving setting up a Virtual Machine, followed by shadowing someone for over an hour. It felt like they'd forgotten about me and didn't respect my time. I was there for almost 4 hours and still haven't heard back days later. It was a disappointing experience. I wouldn't accept an offer because the company seems to disregard candidates and offers low pay compared to others.

So, there were two interviews in total. First, a personality and background check, which lasted about 30 minutes. I was told beforehand that the job is 24/7. Then came the technical assessment, a 45-minute exercise focused on log analysis skills. It involved looking at 5 log events with signs of compromise and explaining my thought process on whether they were malicious and what actions to take with the customer. After the interview part, they asked about my salary expectations and clarified details about the job duties and workload.

I talked to HR, the head of the Application Department, and the Team Lead. We went over my resume, the job details, hours, and pay. They also asked about how my past experience could fit what they're looking for in this entry-level role.
