It was simple and had a few questions. The interviewer spent a good chunk of the 30 min call explaining the job description, what a day to day life is like, and some experiments performed, and then asked me about the design of experiments and chromatography.

I applied online and got a call from the senior HR recruiter to schedule an in-person interview. When I arrived at the scheduled time, the receptionist said the interview was actually an hour later and implied it was my fault. I had to fill out the same application again. The HR person was nice and talked about the company, which offers outdated services. The office itself seemed old and unwelcoming, with few people around. The interviewers were pleasant, but the interview felt very formal and awkward. They unexpectedly asked me to do an 'editorial' test, which turned out to be a super easy multiple-choice questionnaire, not really related to editing. After waiting a few weeks and following up with HR, I was politely informed I was no longer being considered. It felt like an unnecessarily long process.

It was a regular interview process. They asked me about my past work, why I was interested in Thomas Publishing, and how I'd handle a tough client. If you know your resume and the job duties, it's pretty straightforward. I had two interviews. In between, I had to do an online test at home that took about an hour. They said I'd hear back in a week, but I didn't hear anything after two weeks. I emailed and called, but got no response. It felt really unprofessional and uncaring not to get any feedback after two interviews and a test.

I started with a phone screening with HR, then I came in for an in-person interview. I met with three people (hiring manager, content manager, and department director) for about an hour and a half. After that, I had to do a writing test, then a final interview, and then they gave me the job offer!
