Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Third Bridge.

I applied online and then had a phone screening, a video interview, and an on-site interview with two HR people. The phone screening was basically to get a feel for my background, academic experiences, and knowledge of the role and the company. The video interview was pretty similar to the phone screening, but with more behavioral questions thrown in. The on-site interview was a mix of standard interview questions, more behavioral questions, and then questions specific to the role and industry. I also had to do a case study with my interviewers where I had to map out the supply chain and stakeholders for a random industry (cosmetics) and at the end, identify a relevant expert from that industry and give them a pitch phone call. I would highly recommend prospective candidates to do some research here and be prepared to do a phone pitch. I really bungled mine and think that likely influenced their final decision. The reason I've rated this interview experience as negative is that I didn't always feel very listened to by my interviewers. During my video interview, I noticed my interviewer using his phone while I was responding to his questions and, during my on-site interview, there were moments where my interviewers looked like they were zoning off and not paying any attention. I also notice that some interviewers seem to just be riddling off questions and waiting for the candidate to use some buzz word or highlight some experience that they're looking for, rather than trying to have a two-way conversation where they get to know the candidate as an individual. I also just don't think I liked the vibe of the office. I found my interviewers kind of jocky and arrogant, not very welcoming. Most of the employees are young so it almost feels like a fraternity, and I think you miss the warmth and emotional intelligence that some more seasoned and older HR candidates can provide.

The whole process had 4 stages. First, an online screening with questions and some files to upload. Then, I got contacted by email for an initial phone screening with an internal recruiter. They talked about my previous experience, calling and working in a team. They also told me the salary (£30,000). After that, there was a 1:1 Skype interview. It was mostly competency-based questions about times I had to take initiative, take on advice, and my biggest personal failure. It was important to give examples for all these questions and explain how I apply it to my work now. Finally, the 'Superday' where I went to the offices. They showed me around and then I had a competency interview with other analysts. Questions were about working in teams, times I had to sell, and the role I take in a team. They also included a case study where they walked me through dissecting a value chain. I prepared for it, but it was not strictly necessary as they guide you. You should think about suppliers, market regulation, customers, competition, and the people you would talk to in those areas to get your clients the information they need.
- Can you share your greatest personal failure?
- Tell me about a time you had to make a significant decision with limited information.

So you'll have one phone screening, then a video interview, and then finally an in person meeting at HQ. All interviews are competency based questions, and the last one also has a case. Otherwise, they're general questions like 'How much do you know about the company?' and 'Please walk me through your background.' Everyone was super professional and friendly. Dress code is smart casual, but wear your full business attire for the last interview.
- Can you share an instance where you had to achieve a goal, detailing the steps you took?
- Describe a situation where you had to sell something.
- Tell me about a time you were unsuccessful in meeting an objective.
