Customer Success Manager
The process had four interviews and a written part. First, I talked to the hiring manager, then HR. After that, there was a written test. The last interview could have been a panel or something similar, but I'm not sure exactly. It was a pretty standard way things usually go! After the big take-home assignment, they ghosted me even though I followed up a bunch.
- How do you collaborate effectively within a team environment?
Customer Success Manager
We started with a simple assignment where I had to answer client-type emails, which I thought was a neat way to show soft skills beyond a resume. Then, I had a phone interview with HR and the Customer Success Manager. Thinkific sent a guide beforehand on how to prepare and what kind of questions to expect, which was really helpful. I was a bit worried about the long 3-hour interview based on other reviews, but their guide explained why it was so in-depth. It actually turned out great; I got to go through my past 10 years of experience, talk about myself, mention roles I usually leave off my resume, and get to know the CSM management team. Because of this interview, they actually found a role that was a better fit for me than the one I applied for, and I got a much better feel for the company and the people I'd be working with. The next step is a pretty intense reference check where they ask 5 references (peers and supervisors) about strengths, weaknesses, how we worked together, if they'd work with me again, and what advice they'd give my future manager. They're really trying to get a full picture of who I am, which is good for both sides. They were always available to answer my questions throughout. I'm really impressed with their approach.
- What do you think makes a great Customer Success Manager?
- Can you describe your strengths?
- What are your biggest weaknesses?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process involved a take-home assignment. It was intentionally given with minimal details. You had to simulate sending emails back to customers based on several real-life scenarios.
- Complete the take-home assignment.
