Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Zappos Family.
Business Analyst
I got contacted for a phone interview 2 days after I applied on their website. The first round was with HR, and they asked me about my personality, experience with teamwork, and past projects. They were super enthusiastic and friendly, which made me feel really at ease. The very next day, I got an email saying I passed the culture interview and they wanted to set up the second round. This was also a phone interview, but this time with my potential manager. This round was more technical, focusing on the skills needed for the job.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Zappos?
Business Analyst
I applied for a business analyst intern position online. The next day, I received an email about a virtual interview, which also included a challenge question. I completed both challenges. Three weeks later, I was notified that I was not accepted for the position. The virtual interview questions were mostly behavioral, with about two or three related to business strategy.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What would you do on a deserted island?
- Can you answer some questions about the challenge?
Business Analyst
First you get a case study problem and have one week to prepare a solution. Then you must present a detailed solution for the case study.
- Can you define an optimization problem and its solution for a business process?
