This will be a pretty long but thorough overview of the accounting intern interview process, which might differ for other internships. The process itself is quite straightforward. It begins with emailing your resume to the college recruiter. Following that, you'll get an email with a link for a virtual interview, which you'll have about a week to finish. For accounting internships, a cover letter video isn't necessary. After the video interview, you'll be invited for on-campus interviews. This is a full-day event with approximately 30-minute interviews, a lunch with fellow candidates and interviewers, and finally, an hour-long culture interview. The interviews aren't overly challenging, but they're looking for your personality. My suggestion is to be friendly not only with the interviewers but also with the other internship candidates. Engage with them during lunch and try to make a good impression. Most of the questions in the video interview are quite unconventional, as one might expect from Zappos, but the in-person interviews are much simpler, focusing on your resume, values, personality, and accounting knowledge. They'll ask some accounting questions, but they're pretty basic. For the culture interview, the questions are again quite standard, and you'll have ample time to ask questions. Make your questions personal and fun, and also share something interesting about yourself to stand out. If you have specific accounting questions, don't ask the recruiter as they aren't very familiar with the accounting department; instead, direct those to others. My biggest piece of advice is to be yourself. You don't need to be excessively quirky. Just be authentic, and you'll likely stand out more than those trying too hard to fit the Zappos "culture." If they like you, you'll receive an email with an offer. Then, you'll get an email for a background check. Once that's cleared, you'll receive an official offer that you'll sign online, followed by all the necessary information for your first day.

Email correspondences, phone interviews, then I came to the Zappos office and spent the day there. It included a tour of the Zappos campus, some one on one interviews, and lunch! They make the interview process very comfortable, so be yourself!! They want to get to know you to make sure you're a culture fit. :) It's unlike anywhere else, and just having the opportunity to experience it was incredible. So thankful.
