Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Y (YMCA).

It was a simple interview process, professional and polite, not overwhelming. There were one to two interviews with executive and C-level staff. Casual formal attire was expected, no need for a powersuit unless interviewing for a C-level role. There was a heavy emphasis on fitting into the Y culture, which was more important than interview wardrobe.
- How do you handle situations with unhappy customers or staff?
Site Lead
It was a simple interview process. They were looking for people who really wanted to work with children. Even though I didn't have any official experience, I've always been the oldest cousin with lots of younger ones, so I'm used to looking after little kids.
- Have you worked with children before?
