First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Y (YMCA).
Front Desk Receptionist
I had one in-person interview for a position in the greater Boston area. The interview was conducted in person, and the questions were pretty straightforward. This was a while ago, but I think the process is generally the same.
- Tell me about a challenging situation you've faced.
Front Desk Receptionist
It was very good. The staff were understanding and the manager listened to everything I had to say. Informally, I didn't get the work. I also had a friend who was also very... it is not that paint.
- Tell me about your favorite car.
Front Desk Receptionist
I sent in my application online and they gave me a call about a week later to set up an interview. The interview itself went okay, but the 3 interviewers each had a list of around 20 questions for me. It went on for over 45 minutes. They also contacted all 3 of my references, which I thought was a bit strange considering it was just a part-time job.
- How long do you intend to remain in this area?
- What is your expected duration of employment in this role?
