Recruiter reached out two weeks after I applied via Linkedin. First was the screening w/ the recruiter, then was the interview w/ hiring manager. Rejection came a week after interview w/ Hiring manager.

Had a really pleasant experience interviewing with the recruiter and two team members. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and passionate about their work at Wonderful Co. The rejection process was a bit off though. The recruiter emailed late Thursday to set up a Friday call for a "status update." I responded to call whenever on Friday after a certain time. She called at 8 pm my time (5 pm her time) to reject me, stating no specific feedback but maybe my background wasn't data-focused enough despite my quantitative analytics background. If feedback isn't great, an email would suffice. A 24 hour wait and a late Friday night rejection call is rough! Maybe the company should reconsider their rejection process.

Technical Presentation

This internship opportunity was presented as a contest by Fiji Water, where the prize was a trip to fashion week in NYC, which involved handing out water to guests and crew. The initial stage involved about 70 applicants submitting a short essay on why they were qualified, which was then published on Fiji's blog for public viewing. Following this, a smaller group was selected and asked to submit their resume and a picture. The final stage featured 8 candidates who had to create a one-minute video responding to questions like, 'Who is your favorite style icon and what would you have them wear in a fashion show?'. These videos were then posted on the blog, and after a week of voting, the top 4 with the most votes secured a trip to New York.
