First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The TJX Companies, Inc..
Intern
After submitting the application, there was a hirevue interview with a short and simple case. Then, a group interview with another simple case. Finally, there were 2 back-to-back behavioral interviews with 2 different recruiters, covering typical questions like why the company, why retail, strengths & weaknesses, etc.
- What attracts you to TJX?
- Why are you interested in retail?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Intern
It was a hirevue thing, then after that, there was like a 1.5-2 hour interview with three different managers in separate calls. Some managers asked the same questions. Interviewers seemed tired, prob cuz they were interviewing a lot of people that day. Got my results back quickly.
- What qualities define a good leader?
- Describe a situation where you influenced someone without directly telling them to do something.
- Share an instance when you advocated for an idea that others disagreed with.
Intern
The interview was pretty chill, mostly behavioral questions about me and my interest in TJX. The last couple of questions were a simple math problem and a task where I had to look at a big chart of data. In total, there were 5 questions, and they weren't too challenging.
- What makes you want to join TJX?
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Can you solve this quick math problem?
