Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Standard.
Analyst
There was a pre-determined list of questions. It wasn't hard. Overall it was pleasant. Beware: the job turned out to be nothing like the posting. "Change in business need" is their go-to excuse if you call it out. Working conditions (schedule, flexibility, culture, values, etc.) that were sold in the interview disappeared or were never really there.
- What is your self-assessed proficiency with Excel?
Project Analyst
I was introduced to the senior director for the PMO department. She interviewed me one on one. The questions that she asked pertain primarily to the dashboard of the projects in her department and how I would track and implement the tracking of the information. We discussed my professional background and my experience in various fields of projects.
- What is your experience level with Project Server, project 360, and integrations?
Analyst
I had a comprehension test, then two in-person interviews. Both interviews were with managers from the department. They asked me a bunch of behavioral questions. I had my resume to help me and dressed well. I looked up tough interview questions online to prepare.
- If you have multiple commitments, how do you decide what to work on first?
