Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Siegfried Group.
Senior Associate
The interview process was long and intense. It started with an initial phone interview with HR that lasted about an hour. You really needed to do your research and memorize their core values because the whole interview was based on how you align with them. If you made it to the next round, it would be in-person and last up to 4 hours. You would again be asked a lot of questions that tested if you did your research on the company. They ask a lot of questions that basically assess your willingness to conform to their demands. Obviously, some of it is conversational because they want to ensure you can be put into a client-facing role, but also someone that is potentially a viable future member of management.
- Which of the core values resonates with you the most, and can you explain why?
Senior Associate
First, there's a phone interview covering your resume and some high-level questions about Siegfried to see if it's a good fit. It's pretty casual. After that, you have two in-person interviews back-to-back with senior managers. These are still pretty laid-back. They'll dig into your resume more, talk about the services Siegfried offers clients, and basically try to convince you why you should work there.
- Can you discuss the different audit clients you worked with when you were a Senior Auditor at your past company?
Associate
I had to do 3 personality tests and a self-assessment before the interview. The in-person interview was 4 hours long with 5 people. It was mostly about culture fit, not really about skills. One interviewer said I was unqualified and asked why I was even there. The team members seemed confused about the job, with everyone thinking it was something different. It was intense and made me uncomfortable. The feedback from recruiting was harsh, negative, and hurtful. I wouldn't have taken the job anyway, but my personality was criticized when I didn't ask for it. I don't think the interview went badly enough for such extreme feedback. They could have been more diplomatic in rejecting me, especially since I didn't ask for input. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Why do you feel you are qualified for this role?
