First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Siegfried Group.
Senior Associate
The interview process was long and intense. It started with an initial phone interview with HR that lasted about an hour. You really needed to do your research and memorize their core values because the whole interview was based on how you align with them. If you made it to the next round, it would be in-person and last up to 4 hours. You would again be asked a lot of questions that tested if you did your research on the company. They ask a lot of questions that basically assess your willingness to conform to their demands. Obviously, some of it is conversational because they want to ensure you can be put into a client-facing role, but also someone that is potentially a viable future member of management.
- Which of the core values resonates with you the most, and can you explain why?
Associate Manager
The interview process is pretty involved, but it's for a reason. They really want to make sure you're a good match for the firm and that the firm is a good match for you! They're looking for people who are high performers, ambitious, and driven. It's a multi-step interview that takes a few hours.
- Can you tell me about your career aspirations for the next year, five years, and ten years?
Accountant
The interview process involved two rounds. The first round was a one-on-one conversation where we discussed my background and my interest in joining the firm. The interviewer was friendly, which made the experience less daunting than interviews can sometimes be. The second round comprised three separate interviews, which could collectively last between 4 to 5 hours. I recommend taking breaks during this stage. The discussions were engaging, and while there were some technical questions, they were manageable for an accountant with public accounting experience.
- What prompted you to inquire about our firm?
Leadership Advisor
It was a phone interview that was scheduled for 30 minutes but ended up lasting an hour. The interviewer asked a lot about my past experience, like the kinds of transactions I've handled. They also threw in some typical questions like 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years?' and 'What are your personal goals?', which felt a bit out of place for a phone call. The interview wrapped up with me getting about 3 minutes to ask questions, and honestly, the interviewer couldn't really explain what projects or opportunities were available.
- Can you describe the most challenging transaction you've audited and explain your reasoning?
- What sorts of transactions have you been involved with?
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
