Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

Started with a phone interview, then went in-person, and sometimes there was a third interview. They talked a lot about being competitive, and it's definitely a sales position with a 35k base plus commission. They mentioned a two-week boot camp intensive training and a competitive work environment with strict metrics. This position wasn't for me, and the company could tell. I wasn't happy sitting at a desk making phone calls and emails all day, and that seemed to be the role for at least the first year. They did say there were opportunities to grow, but it didn't seem like a place I'd stay longer than a year or two. Just not for me.

Got a phone call to start, and then they set up an onsite interview immediately. I got to talk to several managers, which was great for understanding the company culture and what they're looking for. It felt pretty laid back, and they were easy to chat with. We discussed my interests and career goals, and then moved on to the specifics of the role and their requirements.

Behavioral Technical

I got recruited by The Select Group after submitting my resume at a career fair. A recruiter from the company called me multiple times, and we scheduled an interview. Before the interview, they had me take a DISC assessment. My scores showed lower than average competitiveness, and the recruiter called to let me know this was a bad sign and I should be ready to explain it. I was also told I'd have two interviews with both a branch and regional manager. When I arrived, the branch manager interviewed me briefly, asking a few questions for about 5 minutes, and then sent me away. A few days later, my recruiter told me I wasn't moving forward. I thanked her and asked for feedback to improve, but she said, 'There was nothing negative written.' So, basically, I was dismissed before even starting because of a personality test.
