First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Renoir Group.
Senior Consultant
So I had an HR interview first, and then I had a case interview with users, who were a manager and a director. The interview was a mix of behavioral and technical questions. Since I applied for ESG specifically, the questions were about sustainability.
- Could you explain emissions accounting according to scope 1, 2, and 3?

The interview process began with an initial interview, which was pretty standard. This was followed by an assessment centre. The assessment centre involved a presentation about myself that I had to prepare beforehand, a maths test, a group activity, an on-the-spot presentation, and another group activity. The assessment centre had about 10 candidates and 2 employees from Renoir. The facilitators mentioned that they often change the structure and tasks during the day, which was a bit odd for a consultancy focused on implementation and process. First, we had to give a 3-minute presentation about ourselves with no slides or props allowed. Some people were clearly better prepared than others. Then, there was a maths test. It wasn't difficult, but the wording was a bit confusing and sometimes ambiguous. After that, we did a group activity called the Zin obelisk, which was quite fun, where everyone worked together. Next was an on-the-spot presentation. We were given a statement that was controversial or didn't make much sense, given a few minutes to prepare, and then had to present on it for as long as possible. It seemed like they were more interested in how long we could talk rather than the quality of our argument. Finally, we had another group activity, but this time we were split into two smaller groups. The task was along the lines of estimating how many of something would fit into something else. Even though some people in our group had strong quantitative backgrounds, the facilitators didn't seem to understand our logical approach and couldn't clearly explain their own. At the end, they said we'd get feedback within a day or so, but we never heard back. Renoir presented themselves as 'high flyers'. It was hard to know what that meant with little information available, so I was a bit nervous, and talking to others, they were too. Only about 3-4 of us seemed to be 'high flyers' based on education and achievements, while some of us were left wondering why certain attendees were even there. The facilitators also didn't seem very professional or like the 'high flyers' they claim the company is made of. It was a confusing experience, and the lack of rejection felt more like a lucky escape than missing out on a great opportunity.
- Could you tell us the reasons for your interest in Renoir?
- What are your motivations for pursuing a career in implementation consulting?
Consultant
The interview process involves two main stages. The first stage is a screening call with an internal HR representative who will ask about your consulting experience, focusing on your project management skills and the diversity of your projects. The second round is with the Head of Operations, who will inquire about the specifics of your projects, with an emphasis on stakeholder management, project governance, and escalations.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience in consulting?
- What is the number of projects you have completed?
- Could you describe the areas of your projects regarding industry and organizational vertical?
