First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Renoir Group.
Management Consultant
I applied at Renoir in January 2023 and heard back within a day. The first interview was with HR, and I got a bad feeling because she seemed uninterested and rude. It felt like an interrogation, which is a turn-off. HR should be welcoming, especially for a smaller company. It's important for them to know that people aren't desperate and want respect. The salary wasn't competitive either. Expect the worst for your first interview!
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- What are your salary expectations?

Project Manager
First, there was a video Skype interview to get to know me better and ask a couple of quizzes. After that, if I was shortlisted, I was invited to their physical office for a group and then an individual interview. At the office, we had to do a short intro, a group problem-solving game, a math test, a 2-minute presentation on a given topic, and a one-on-one with the recruiters. The process was interesting, but at times humiliating. The recruiters tried to be real about consultancy work, but there was a lot of discouragement and they seemed arrogant, saying they were better than the Big 4.
- Can you think of 5 alternative uses for a bar of soap, beyond just washing?
- What is your answer to this tricky mathematical quiz?
- Could you please provide a brief, 2-3 minute self-introduction?
Consultant
The interview process involves two main stages. The first stage is a screening call with an internal HR representative who will ask about your consulting experience, focusing on your project management skills and the diversity of your projects. The second round is with the Head of Operations, who will inquire about the specifics of your projects, with an emphasis on stakeholder management, project governance, and escalations.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience in consulting?
- What is the number of projects you have completed?
- Could you describe the areas of your projects regarding industry and organizational vertical?
Implementation Management Consultant
So after a quick phone chat, it was a one-on-one chat, then a group thing. They really hammered home the 'you'll be travelling non-stop' and 'never in the UK' bits. Also kept mentioning how tough it is, like, 'down a mine tough' and '18h days'. The pay they offered was a joke, no perks either, and the training info was super vague. But hey, they said 'it'll look good on your CV'!
- Tell me about your presentation skills and how you ensure you stick to time.
- Were the questions difficult? Were you prepared?
