It was more casual than I anticipated, with straightforward questions. The interviewers were warm and welcoming, making it feel more like a conversation than a formal interview, which I appreciated. I was initially anxious about interviewing with four people, but it turned out to be less stressful than I expected. They inquired about how I manage conflict and my past experiences dealing with conflicts with patients.

I was contacted by one of the supervisors about a generalist HR role and we had a phone screen the same day. Then I was invited for an in-person interview with the manager and two HR directors. They asked situational questions about my experience and were very nice. They explained the next steps and my potential first few months. I was told I'd hear back the following week about another interview with a director and other HR Consultants. I sent a thank you email to the main manager, but got no response. After two weeks, I followed up via email again with no reply. Four weeks later, I got a generic rejection email. This was disappointing because I had taken time off work for the interview and really felt it was my dream job. As a recruiter, I wouldn't handle it this way, especially from OSU Wexner.

I applied through a job portal and got a quick call from the recruiter. They scheduled an in-person interview for about two weeks later. It was pretty casual and they didn't give clear instructions on parking, which door to use, or who would meet me, making it confusing. I met with the manager who seemed unprepared, without notes, and wasn't making eye contact, often looking away while I was talking. They asked questions that didn't seem like the best way to assess skills, and surprisingly, no behavioral questions. Right after the interview, we did a facility tour. I had to put on safety gear and was worried about wearing high heels, especially coming from a safety-focused industry; I'd suggest not allowing high heels on tours due to fall risks. I emailed for an update after about 3 weeks and was told an answer was coming soon, but they didn't even use my name in the email, which felt dismissive. I never got a rejection email, only a rejection through the job portal around the 1-month mark. It was a disappointing experience overall, with much room for improvement in their interview questions and the admin's communication about interview logistics.

So I had a 30-minute phone screening with the recruiter first. After that, I had an hour-long panel interview with three shift managers, a recruiter, and someone more senior than the shift managers. They said I'd hear back in 2-3 days but I got an email right away for an on-site interview a week later. The last interview was a tour that also served as a 'walking interview.' During that, I really got a sense of the job's scope and the people I'd be interacting with. In the end, I decided it wasn't the right fit for me and turned down the offer I got a week after that.
