Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The NPD Group.
Intern
It was a phone call interview with HR. They asked basic questions about my resume experiences. It started with my education and then asked several questions about school projects. After that, we moved on to work experiences, going into a lot of detail. It was a very standard process.
- Could you describe a significant challenge you encountered during your last job?
- Can you detail your educational background?
- Tell me about the projects you worked on while studying.
Intern
The interview process involved some basic questions about my qualifications and experience. There were a few behavioral questions, but mostly it was about why I was interested in the company and the specific role I applied for. Overall, it was a good experience, but it took about 3 weeks between the first and second screen, which was longer than I expected.
- What made you want to work for this company?
- What about this specific role caught your attention?
Intern
I applied at the university career fair and got a response about a month later for an on-site interview. The questions were all about whether I knew the company. I think I did well, but I never heard back. They didn't even call to let me know I was rejected.
- Tell me about the classes you have taken.
