Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Marketing Arm.
Intern
I was contacted pretty much last minute for an internship in Dallas. Had a quick, easy phone interview with a recruiter. She told me two Creative Directors would call me later that day. The second call was great and very conversational, felt more like a chat than an interview. Turns out this CD and I went to the same university, so we talked about that a lot. The final call was the most interview-like, but still positive. When I told her about my skills, she said, "You are the exact kind of candidate I'm looking for. I'm very excited about this." She also said they'd "most definitely be contacting me in the next day with information about next steps." I never heard from them again. I'm not even upset about not getting the internship, but it's unprofessional to leave someone hanging after three interviews and a promise of follow-up. I live in Austin and was waiting to hear back to know if I needed to move to Dallas the following week before the program started. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and made me doubt their professionalism.
- What's a brand you think is doing well right now and why?
Intern
I had interviews with three different account executives from various accounts at TMA. The interviews felt more like casual conversations than formal interviews, and each lasted about 15-20 minutes. The executives were friendly and answered all my questions about the company. Even though I was initially intimidated by the company's size, they made me feel comfortable.

Intern
Got contacted by my supervisor, and the interview process was pretty quick and easy. It was about 25 mins max. She asked about my entertainment experience, then talked about the company and what I'd be doing.
