The interview was about 20-30 minutes long. The manager was super nice and accommodating. It started with introductions about yourself and your past experience, then we talked about what motivates you, and then some situational questions about customer service. They gave me a sheet to write down all the times I can't work in the coming months, so make sure to have that ready before you go.

It was an easy application process. I applied online and they called me for a quick phone chat the next day. The actual interview was set up for the week after. The interview itself was pretty basic and felt like it was over too quickly. I got a call afterward saying I didn't get the job and they gave me some feedback. They said I did well in the interview and came across well, but I wasn't chosen because of 'lack of availability'. When I asked about this since I can start right away and work any hours, they checked and said it was because other candidates could work more hours than the 15 I could offer (even though the contract was only for 10). So basically, a 10-hour job posting actually meant they wanted someone full-time, similar to a zero-hour contract. I expected better from a company like Lego, but apparently not. It was a complete waste of time and very disappointing.

The interview was really laid back, the two guys interviewing me were super friendly. You don't need to be super professional, it's okay to laugh and answer questions casually. They talked casually too, and it felt like a normal chat. When I got to the store, the assistant manager told me to look around and grab a LEGO set to bring to the interview. They'll ask about the set you pick, like how you'd describe it to a customer. Make sure you know some basic LEGO history too, like when it started and how the company grew. The interview was in the stockroom because the shop floor is packed, so it was quieter and less stressful.

  • Why did you choose to bring this particular LEGO set with you today?
  • Thinking about your past experience, what did you learn and what did you like about that role?
