The interview process involved three interviews. The first one was a video interview through HireVue which included 5 questions with self recorded answers. The second interview was an Assessment Day in their Copenhagen office where I got to hear about the experience of other student workers at LEGO and included a case study which I did together with other candidates for the position and some members of the team. The case was in a form of a discussion and focused more on problem solving skills and coding practices and less on specific frameworks or languages. The final interview was an online call with the hiring manager to talk more about the role and me and past experience.

The process was a bit chaotic. I first had to upload several videos to an AI platform. I wouldn't have expected Lego to use AI services, which are inherently biased and flawed, given it's a Danish company. It was a bad first impression. I was later invited to an online interview, but I wasn't informed about the role of the person I'd be speaking with beforehand, so I assumed it was someone from HR. It turned out to be my future manager. The job details were very vague, but the interview itself was quite pleasant.

I got in touch with an engineer at LEGO on LinkedIn, and they suggested I apply for their student worker position. After applying, I received a call a few days later asking if I'd be interested in an interview, either online or in person at their Billund office, where I could see the facilities. We scheduled the interview in Billund. It involved two engineers and a recruiter who also seemed to be an engineer. They asked me some questions, but I ended up asking a lot, feeling like I was interviewing them at times. They were very friendly, and by the time I got home, I felt like most of my questions had been answered. It was a bit unclear what my exact duties would be and what was expected of me, beyond 'being curious to learn.' I suspect this was due to some of my potential tasks being confidential or related to 'red code information.' I'm still not entirely sure, but everything else sounded great, so I knew this was the job for me.
