Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Lacek Group.
Account Executive
I interviewed for a Senior Account Executive role and spoke with 5 people plus the recruiter. The recruiter then informed me that the role had been changed to an Account Supervisor position. However, they mentioned an opening for the original role I applied for on a different team. I then proceeded to interview with 5 more people on that new team. Following this, the recruiter communicated another change, altering the position to an Account Executive role, which is a lower level with less pay. They had me interview with a total of 11 people just to change the position twice. I decided not to move forward due to the negative experience. The recruiter was very nice, though.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- What can you tell me about your previous work and accomplishments?
- Can you share some examples of how you've handled specific situations in the past?
Senior Account Executive
I had two sets of interviews for two separate positions at The Lacek Group. Both were video chats, either 1-on-1 or 2-on-1, with various department members, usually lasting a few hours for each position. For the first role, after multiple interviews, HR took over two weeks to respond, eventually stating they had downgraded the position to an Account Executive. Then, HR mentioned another SAE role opened up and wanted me to speak with that team. Despite my hesitation after the initial experience, I agreed, as HR assured me the position would remain Senior Account Executive. The interviews for this second role also went well, and I sent thank you notes. However, it's now been over three weeks with no follow-up. I reached out to HR a week after the interview and again over three weeks later, and I'm still waiting for an update. I was really enthusiastic about the role, but I wouldn't recommend interviewing with this company due to the HR contact being unresponsive and misleading.
- They have standard interview questions they use, which are very casual, more like conversations, apart from a few questions from their bank.
Account Executive
The interview process was pretty smooth and very easy to coordinate with HR. They were very flexible with my schedule and working it into the interviewers day as well. They provided very thorough instructions on who I was meeting with and the details I needed to know to get there. The interviews are a bit daunting since you meet with 4-5 people back to back and you need to be able to answer behavioral interview questions. The job description online did not really align super closely to the job so that was a bit misleading but overall it was a good process, start to finish.
- Can you share your experience with project management and a situation where you juggled multiple projects with demanding deadlines?
