I interviewed for a Senior Account Executive role and spoke with 5 people plus the recruiter. The recruiter then informed me that the role had been changed to an Account Supervisor position. However, they mentioned an opening for the original role I applied for on a different team. I then proceeded to interview with 5 more people on that new team. Following this, the recruiter communicated another change, altering the position to an Account Executive role, which is a lower level with less pay. They had me interview with a total of 11 people just to change the position twice. I decided not to move forward due to the negative experience. The recruiter was very nice, though.

The interview process was pretty smooth and very easy to coordinate with HR. They were very flexible with my schedule and working it into the interviewers day as well. They provided very thorough instructions on who I was meeting with and the details I needed to know to get there. The interviews are a bit daunting since you meet with 4-5 people back to back and you need to be able to answer behavioral interview questions. The job description online did not really align super closely to the job so that was a bit misleading but overall it was a good process, start to finish.

I'd be hesitant to interview with Lacek Group because I had a bad experience and it seems like other candidates on Glassdoor have too. I applied for an Account Director role with Marriott Bonvoy. I love the Marriott brand, so I was really excited about it. At first, things went well. I had a good chat with the hiring manager, who is the SVP - Account Director on the Marriott business, and also with the SVP, Director of Account Services. My HR person told me the team was impressed with my background and that a final decision would be made soon. She then called back to say they went with someone else who had co-branded credit card experience. That's fair. She also said the team liked me and would keep me in mind for other jobs. We ended on a good note. Two days later, my HR contact called again, saying their plans had changed and asking if I was still interested. I said yes. She promised to check with the hiring manager and call me back. I never heard from her again. I figure they used my interest to negotiate with the other candidate, but who knows? It's easy to be mad at my HR contact, but she was just following orders from the senior leaders at Lacek. Honestly, I'm grateful. If they treat people they like this, how do they treat their employees and clients? It's a shame #Marriott partners with a company like this.

The whole thing took about 2.5 months from start to finish, ending in a rejection. The final interviews were about 3.5 hours long and I talked to six different people. Before that, there was a 20-minute call with HR and then a 30-minute chat with the department manager. It felt super repetitive though, since I spoke with the manager on the phone and then again in the final rounds, and everyone kept asking the same stuff. Some interviewers were nice, but a couple were kinda intense.
