First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Knot Worldwide.
Account Executive
The interview process was pretty smooth. I think I got to the second round of interviews. My first round was very nice. The person I spoke with was super knowledgeable about the position and my résumé. Very positive. However, once I got to the second round, the two hiring managers were super direct, not very positive, and just very competitive. It was pretty obvious from the jump that they did not like my background, so not really sure why they took the interview if that was the case.
- What makes you passionate about sales?
Account Executive
I got an email asking me to interview. It had a link to an informational video that explained more about the job, what's expected, pay, benefits, etc. I thought that was really helpful. The first interview was a phone screen with the recruiter, who was nice. She told me the next interview would be a roleplay, but I didn't get that far. She told me the next day that it wasn't a good fit, which was a bummer, but I appreciated how fast she got back to me since that doesn't happen often these days.
- What makes you want to work in sales?
Account Executive
I had a 30 minute call with a recruiter first, and it went really well. She gave me good feedback and set up my next interview with two Assistant Directors for the next day. It was a Google meet and honestly one of the worst interview experiences I've had. They seemed to have already made up their minds. Even though they said they liked my resume, they grilled me about not having the 'right' experience, pressured me on salary expectations when I wouldn't give a specific number, asked if I was applying elsewhere, and barely responded genuinely to anything I said. I haven't heard back from the recruiter, but I'm pulling out because I wouldn't want to work for those Assistant Directors.
- Can you rank competitiveness, recognition, and compensation for me?
- What are your thoughts on salary expectations?
- What's the worst part of working in sales?
