It was just a drug test and a general vibe check to see if I was a normal dude. They asked about how I like to help people and if I could lift at least 20 pounds. The drug test was a mouth swab thing, and it tasted a bit weird.

Behavioral

The interview was great because I was nervous, but the store manager and the department supervisor really put me at ease. The manager shared his own career journey at Home Depot, making the conversation feel relaxed, more like talking to a friend. It felt like I wasn't just interviewing for a job, but for a place where I could grow and stay long-term, like joining a family. The whole experience was excellent and professional, truly reflecting Home Depot's core values.

First, you'll apply and we'll look over your resume and cover letter. We'll check if you're a good fit. Then, there's an initial chat, probably on the phone or video, with someone from recruiting or HR. They'll check if you generally fit and can communicate well. They might also ask you to do a skills test or something like a case study. After that, you'll likely talk with the hiring manager or the team you'd be working with. This is where we dive deeper into your experience and how you solve problems. Sometimes, there's a final chat with bigger bosses or people from other departments to see how you think strategically and if you're a good culture fit. Maybe you'll even have to do a presentation. Then we'll check your references. If everything goes well, we'll make you an offer and you can negotiate. Lastly, after you accept, we'll get you started with onboarding, which is all the paperwork and training.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you tell us about yourself and why you're interested in this job? What have you found out about our company?
  • What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
  • What is your 5-year plan?
