First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Hershey Company.
Sales Associate
It started with an online application and then a zoom interview. After that, there was an in-person onboarding. The whole thing was pretty chill and everyone was nice. They talked about what the job actually is and asked about my sales background and previous jobs.
- Can you tell me if you have sales experience?
- Do you have any past work history?
- What are the responsibilities of this job?
Sales Associate
The interview had a lot of background noise from the interviewer, which made it hard to hear and focus. They asked me to repeat an answer even after they said I already gave it. I was let go from my most recent job, and while I have reasons for leaving previous jobs, they didn't ask me why I was let go, and I didn't get to explain. The interview process at Hersheys felt ridiculous compared to my experiences at large companies like Kellogg's and Mattel. After the interview, there was no communication or emails for three weeks.
- Tell me about a time you solved a problem creatively.
Sales Associate
I initially met with the interviewer at my school's career fair and was able to schedule an interview for the following day. The first interview was primarily STAR-based questions to understand how I would respond in certain situations. Following that, I did a ride-along with a current Sales Associate to experience the job firsthand. Lastly, I had an interview with the district coordinator via Skype.
- What are your coworkers' perceptions of you?
