Continuous Improvement Engineer
The interview process starts with a phone screen and then an online interview to see if your profile fits the role. The recruiter does a competency-based interview. The Hiring Manager's interview is more technical, less competency-based, and feels like it depends on whether they like you rather than your skills. There's no follow-up, and they ghost you.
- Tell me about continuous improvement projects you've led.
- Which continuous improvement tools are you proficient in?
- How would you handle resistance to change during implementation?
Process Engineer
For the intern position, I was required to do a one sided video interview where they sent out a link and the interview was done through a third party. It lasted about forty minutes. The recording asked questions and I had three minutes to answer. All responses were recorded and they could be played back but not re-recorded. After this first wave, I had two phone interviews and then received an offer.
- Tell me about a time you used the STAR method.
- What technical questions did you face about previous work experience?
- What's your favorite Hershey product?
Industrial Engineer
I had a phone chat with a recruiter from Hershey. They are restructuring their corporate IE department and seeking to fill a few roles, including a Director of IE. The Director role requires GMP and food safety experience. The recruiter was nice and informative, but I haven't heard back since.
- Can you describe your experience in food manufacturing?
