It was a friendly conversation and she was willing to go over on time if there needed to be anymore explaining. They organize their positions oddly, so she explained that upfront that I was applying for a mid-level job even though the interview email said senior.

I had an initial phone interview that was pretty casual. The recruiter went over the job details with me, and I discussed my work history. They mentioned that if I got through that, there would be another phone interview (likely since I was traveling from out of state) followed by a formal interview at the facility. They said they'd let me know about the decision, but I had to reach out to them first to find out.

Applied through the website and got an email a few days later to set up a phone screen. Scheduling was easy. The phone screen was not what I expected after prepping. I thought it would be a more engaging talk about the job and company. Instead, it felt like a telemarketer call. The screener focused heavily on salary and didn't have much info. They asked about 3-4 things from my resume, and my questions were deferred to the recruiter. It felt uninformative and cold. I received a rejection email about a week and a half later, and my questions were never followed up on.
