First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Hartford.
Assistant Director
So, I had a few interviews with The Hartford. They're pretty technical, more so than other insurance places I've been to. First, there was a recruiter call, then I had 3 interviews. One was a case study type thing, where they gave me 25 minutes to look at some data and tell them what I thought and what they should do. Another interview was with a director who asked about my past work. The last interview was also with a director, and they threw some random questions at me, like some math stuff and also behavioral questions.
- What's something people get wrong about you?
- What are your insights and suggestions from the data analysis?
- Can you describe your previous roles and responsibilities?
Product Director
Got a message from a recruiter to set up a 15 min call. They were a bit late joining and asked me to introduce myself. I gave a brief overview and asked about the products this role would focus on. They mentioned the main one. I then shared my background, and they asked if I had any questions. I asked a few things I thought a recruiter would know, but they said they couldn't answer them. It felt a bit strange, not really what I'd expect from a company of this size.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your motivation for seeking a new position?
- What prompted you to look for a new role?
Director
I had personal interviews, and they suggested I have a personal interview. I made it to the day and time of my interview. I interviewed with HR first, then the recruiting manager, and then a couple of his peers. The interview focused on job scenarios. Nothing special to prepare, but I needed to have some actual scenarios ready to answer them.
