First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Hanover Insurance Group.
Business Systems Analyst
I had an initial call with the recruiter where I could pick a time/date from Calendly. I let the recruiter know which weekdays worked for a potential interview. A couple of days later, I was scheduled for three interviews on one of the weekdays I suggested, each 45 minutes long, but not back-to-back. Fortunately, I got the invites a few days early, so I could take the day off work. The interviews themselves went really well, and I felt I'd move on to the next stage. Everyone was super friendly, and I felt a good connection with the panel. My 20+ years of experience in P&C Insurance, including specific legacy system knowledge, was highly relevant. To my surprise, I wasn't selected to move to a second round of interviews, which was quite shocking, honestly. I asked the recruiter/hiring manager for feedback, but none was provided. Overall, it was a good experience, but it struck me as very unusual that I wasn't chosen to advance, given my background and experience.
- In five years, what would you want a newspaper headline about you to say?
Business Analyst
got a quick reply asking for a 30 min phone interview and they sent a link to schedule on Calendy for Monday. The call was on Monday and they said they'd get back to me by the end of the week. I followed up on Friday and they replied pretty fast saying they'd get back to me next week. The interviewer was really positive and seemed excited about the company. They hit the main points but kept the chat fun.
- What are your key strengths that you'd bring to this role?
Business Analyst
I was asked to come in and interview with 4 different people for about 20 minutes each. 3 of the people I met with were very laid back and we had more of a casual conversation more than an interview. One of the interviewers asked behavioral questions, nothing unexpected really.
- Describe a situation where you faced conflict and explain how you resolved it.
