Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Good Guys.
Sales Assistant
Applied online and after about 15 days, got an email for a group interview. Since not many candidates showed up, they switched to one-on-one interviews with the store manager and operations manager. They only asked about 4-5 questions, which felt more like a casual chat. In the end, they hired everyone.
- Can you share an instance when you dealt with a challenging customer?
Sales Assistant
It was a very interesting interview with questions that valued a young person's perspective. They asked about my education and future plans. They wanted to know if I was motivated and would take initiative. They also asked about my availability and hours, and what other university students do for part-time work.
- What motivated your application to Good Guys?
Retail Sales Assistant
We had a group interview for a new store, with applicants for sales, admin, and warehouse roles all present. The activities didn't really relate to what you'd do as a retail employee.
