It was easy and basic. They only had part-time positions available, so I told them my availability and that I could schedule within those periods. I applied for the general position, and they offered me the barista role because that's where they needed help.

The interview process was really straightforward, and they basically told me that if I got an interview, I was pretty much guaranteed the job. The tricky part was actually getting the interview. Even though I had a family member working at another location, I had to call them every week for four weeks to check on my application status.

I went in not very ready and had no idea what to anticipate as it was my first interview. I arrived and they made me wait at the front of the store for around 30 minutes. The store manager took me to the back, which I thought was for staff but looked more like a crime scene. He asked me stuff like why I wanted to work for Giant and what I would bring to the team, which I stumbled on. He said they'd call me if I got the job, but I knew it hadn't gone well. I didn't get it but at least I looked good.
