First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The GEO Group.
Security Engineer
The hiring process was pretty chill, they answered all my questions and gave me an offer fast. The other team members were nice, but I did have to wait about 20 mins past the start time because they were tied up in a meeting. They asked questions that were spot on for the role.
- What's motivating your job search?
Resident Monitor
The interview process was quick and straightforward. I found the building easily. The interview took place in a quiet, relaxed setting, allowing for open discussion without a rush. Each question helped me understand the role better.
- Describe a crisis situation you faced and your response to it.
HR Coordinator
I had a good interview experience with The GEO Group. From the beginning, the interviewers were professional, respectful, and made me feel comfortable. They asked clear and relevant questions about my background, skills, and how I would handle specific scenarios related to the role. I appreciated how the conversation felt more like a dialogue than a test, allowing me to express myself confidently. They also took the time to explain the responsibilities of the position, the team structure, and the company’s mission, which gave me a better understanding of how I could contribute. Overall, it was a positive and encouraging experience that left me feeling excited about the opportunity.
- Could you discuss your experience from past employment?
Assistant Facility Director
The HR recruiter called me for the initial screening. She was very professional and respectful. When I arrived for my actual interview, the security at Creston st. The Bronx site was very nice and professional. However, the actual Geo staff was a different story. I waited for over an hour for an interviewer and yet nothing. When I asked a staff member how much longer it would be I was met with attitude. From my perception, the staff shot me a look and with a malicious tone informed me “these interviews are long you're gonna be here a while so just wait”. I politely informed them I will be contacting HR to reschedule me. I sent my email to HR requesting to be rescheduled but I have yet to hear from them. It has been over 2 weeks.
- The questions asked were: unsure because I never made it into the room.
