Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The EVO Group.
Account Executive
The office was unmarked and shared by multiple companies. The receptionist had me fill out a basic application after asking which company I was interviewing with. The atmosphere was very relaxed with music and sports on TV. There were other candidates waiting. After I finished the application, I met with someone who introduced himself as a "hiring manager." It seemed like a general term as I overheard others using it. I felt a bit misled from the beginning. The interview was straightforward. He asked about 5-7 questions on my experience and job aspirations. He also gave a brief overview of the job. I was told I might get a call later that day if I was a top candidate. The interviewer seemed surprised by my questions, which were pretty standard. He responded to "If you could change 1 thing, what would it be and why?" by saying "The interior design of the office," not mentioning anything about the company or daily operations. For "Why aren't people successful in this role?" he said it was due to "Lack of motivation, their personal life interferes with the job, and people do not set good goals for themselves." When asked "What does an average day look like?" he said, "That's what a second interview is for." I believe the title "Account Executive" doesn't accurately represent the role, which seems to be cold calling/door-to-door sales with high turnover. It might be successful, but it demands long hours and mental toughness, as hinted by "direct marketing" on their site. I was initially excited due to positive reviews, but the negative ones seem more accurate. Overall, I'd rate the experience as "Poor."
- Can you tell me about your proudest accomplishment?
- What does success mean to you?
- What is your driving force?
Account Executive
I applied online through an ad and sent in my resume. The company called me and asked a few things about what I was looking for and if the job could be a good fit. I went into the office and a nice person at the front desk gave me an application to fill out. There were a few other people ahead of me and in the lobby. The place was clean and I liked the music they were playing. Soon after, one of the hiring managers met me, took me to his office, and asked me some questions. He then told me more about the company, the job, and potential for growth. He saved time at the end for me to ask questions he hadn't covered during his company overview. He answered my questions, and I was told if I was selected, I'd get a call back later if they wanted to continue the process.
- What are your main sources of inspiration or motivation?
Account Executive
My interview process started with a 20-minute chat with one of the hiring managers, who was great! Then, I had a second interview with a senior corporate trainer. They gave me a full breakdown of the position and the company, and I could ask all my questions. The final interview was a quick 20-minute chat with Director Joe Arciaga. I met a lot of different, interesting people throughout. Meeting Joe Arciaga, the Director, was the best part!
- What makes you a good fit for our company?
- Why are you the right candidate?
