First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Craneware Group.
Software Manager
My interview experience at Craneware was really great. The HR people were super helpful and clear about everything from the get-go, making the process easy and friendly. What really impressed me were the managers I talked to; they had a good grasp of both technical stuff and leading a team. The talks felt more like sharing ideas than a formal interview, and I felt like I learned a lot from them. The time just flew by, and I left feeling even more keen about the job and the team.
- In your opinion, what are the key factors that contribute to software maintainability?
Account Executive
The HR person was super nice and the first phone screen went great. Then I had a Zoom interview with two people. We really clicked and they seemed nice too. I thought I was moving forward. The next week, I had a Zoom scheduled with a VP, but she ghosted me. I contacted HR, who apologized and promised to reschedule. I followed up via text and email several times over the next five days, but I never heard back. It's like they completely ignored me. It sounds like someone else had a similar experience. Job searching is tough. Please be nicer to candidates.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a phone chat with HR covering behavioural topics, followed by a take-home coding challenge. Finally, there was a technical interview with a senior engineer and the team manager, which felt very representative of the actual job. Everyone was nice and professional, and the whole thing was pretty quick and efficient. I ended up turning down the offer because another role was a better match for what I wanted to do, but I'd still recommend this company and would consider them again later.
- Could you review this code snippet and identify any errors or areas for enhancement?
HR Business Partner
The interview process took a long time. I had 3 interviews, but everything was dragged out. I really dislike when companies do this. I received a rejection email 3-4 weeks after my final interview. I contacted them a few times about the status and was told I was still being considered. This has been a very tough time for me lately when looking for an HR job. It's way too exhausting for companies to prolong an interview process without communication. Then to get a rejection email with such disregard after going through hoops to interview. It's disgusting.
- Can you tell me about a time using the STAR method, or share some basic questions and have a conversation?
