I applied online and was called in for a group interview. We all had to introduce ourselves and state our reasons for wanting to join CS. There were 20 candidates, and I was the 17th, so I had to think hard to say something unique. After watching some videos, it turned into a free-for-all where we had to discuss what we learned from them, though they were mostly just motivational and didn't offer much substance. I didn't jump in to express my enthusiasm, which seemed to work against me. Many others mentioned being very excited and talked about their neatness. I wasn't a fan of the format, especially when they mentioned having 45 part-time staff and only one opening in September, with 20 of us present. It felt like a bit of a waste of time.

Group Presentation

Applied online for a grand opening position. Got an email to schedule a group interview. We were asked to bring in a picture of a product that would help us organize an area in our home (be creative with this part). There were 3 other people in the group interview with 3 company employees. They read from a packet about the company, showed us videos and had us respond to them. The interview lasted about an hour. I got called back the same day to schedule an one on one interview.

The interview process included a phone interview, a group interview, and a personal interview. I really liked the process because it let you show yourself in different situations. The group interview was interesting to see how people responded to a question. I think this is a great method for hiring managers because it gives a real look at how people interact with strangers. If you can't be pleasant in a group interview, how will you act with a customer one-on-one?
