First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Barista
It was pretty straightforward. They asked some basic questions about customer service and handling customer satisfaction. The main things they wanted to know were how I deal with feedback and my general attitude towards the job and how I commit my time to it.
- What's your approach to handling feedback?
- How enthusiastic are you about your work and your time commitment to it?
Barista
I interviewed for a Barista position after being let go from my previous job at a nearby cafe where I had worked full-time. I had 3 years of barista experience. The interview with the manager went well, and I enjoyed our conversation. I inquired about the timeline for a decision, and was told I'd hear back by the end of the day. Unfortunately, it's been over a week, and I haven't received any communication from them, essentially being ghosted.
- Why did you apply to our cafe?
- What relevant experience do you have?
Barista
It started with a phone call, then an email exchange, followed by a face-to-face meeting. They'll ask you basic questions about your education, past jobs, and any skills you've learned. You'll also be told that the job isn't just about making and serving drinks, but also involves cleaning up, preparing food, and general store upkeep, including the restroom. The pay is minimum wage, and there are no raises.
- Can you tell me about your education and previous work history?
- What skills do you have?
